  1. Leah,

Thank you for your nice comment! I'm really glad you had fun reading the book. Yes, I am working on another book. It takes me a long time to write books, so it probably won't be out for a while, but I'm trying to get faster and faster because I have a lot to say. :) I don't like to talk about my books too much when they are in the process of writing, I'm not sure why I do that, but it's just one of those weird writer things I guess, but I think if you like Palace Beautiful, you will like this next one as well. I'm working on a scene today where the main character finds a big secret that she is very excited about. I love writing those kinds of scenes. Well ,thank you for your note! Now, I'm off to work on my next book.

  2. bballgirl,
I'm so happy you enjoyed the book! As far as a sequal, one thing I love to do is end a book on a note of possibilities. I love for the reader to imagine what's next. What do you think will happen in the lives of the characters after the book ends? The truth is, since it is fiction, there is no wrong answer, and whatever you imagine can be what happens. For that reason, I'm not going to write a sequal, but I often find myself curious like you are about what would happen next. You can always write a sequal making it any way you want. I think that would be very interesting! Thank you for your note!

  3. Shelly,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. I have been in contact with Sally DeFord before to see if we are related. I'm sure we are way down the line, but we havn't found any real direct connection. I write music as well, so I thought maybe with the same names and some of the same interests, we might be, but we aren't as far as we know. She is very talented and generous with her gifts, and seems like a nice person.

    Thank you for your comments!

  6. Sarah,
I just discovered your Book "Palace Beautiful". I love all the references to SLC! I have a question of you. Are you related to SallyDeford? We were able to use one of her songs for a women's conference. It is so beautiful. She is a very talented woman. I think that talent runs in the family if you are related. You have a gift for writing. Looking forward to reading more books from you!

  12. Sarah,
My daughter, Janci Patterson, gave me your book for Christmas. I wanted you to know I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I have been reading it slowly, to savor and make it last. I teach 5th grade, and I'm looking forward to recommending it to a couple of the girls in my class.
    Well done!

  13. Hannah,

Thanks for visiting. Yes, I did design this website myself. The buttons in the back ground are ones I made myself out of clay. The wooden background is my kitchen table. I tried to use a lot of real life things from my house to incorporate here.

As far as your writing at Figment, wow! You are a much better writer than I was when I was younger. Keep with it. You are already well on your way!

  18. Angie,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad it made you want to revisit your own childhood memories. That was one thing I wanted to accomplish with this book. We all have a story. No matter what else we have or don't have in life, we each have a story that is unique to us. Enjoy exploring yours.

  19. Hi Sarah!
Really enjoyed "Palace Beautiful", which I finished this afternoon. Once I got into it, I couldn't put it away! Now I want to revisit my own memories of that age. Very inspiring, and paints a great picture of Salt Lake City now and then. Good luck with future titles!
